Chest Tele X-ray (2 projections)
Chest X-ray (Tele Chest)
Chest x-ray, commonly known as "chest tele," is an imaging technique that uses x-rays to obtain detailed images of the chest, including the heart, lungs, ribs, trachea, and diaphragm. This radiographic method is essential for diagnosing and monitoring various conditions and diseases that can affect the thoracic region.
What are X-rays?
X-rays are a form of electromagnetic radiation that can pass through soft tissues and be absorbed by denser tissues. Captured on film or digital sensor after passing through the body, they generate images that show the internal structure of the area being examined.
Applications of Chest X-ray
This study is essential for:
- Diagnosis of lung diseases: Such as pneumonia, tuberculosis or pulmonary fibrosis.
- Tumor identification: Detect masses or tumors in the lungs or mediastinum.
- Cardiac evaluation: Observe the size and shape of the heart, as well as possible pericardial effusions.
- Fracture detection: Identify possible fractures in the ribs or thoracic vertebrae.
- Liquid evaluation: Identify fluid accumulation in the pleural space.
Benefits of Chest X-ray
- Non-invasive: It does not require incisions or invasive procedures.
- Fast: Provides images in a few minutes.
- Accurate: It offers a clear visualization of the thoracic area, allowing various conditions to be identified.
- Accessible: Available in most medical centers and hospitals.
Conclusion
Chest x-ray is an essential diagnostic tool for doctors and specialists in pulmonology, cardiology and internal medicine. It provides a detailed view of the thoracic region, which facilitates an accurate diagnosis and allows adequate monitoring of the patient's treatment and evolution.
